Important Info For Your Trip

Please review our policies below prior to booking your trip. We pride ourselves on being transparent and accommodating. If you ever have a question, concern, or need assistance, our team is here to help.

Deposits & Balances

mountain-seperator

To confirm your reservation, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining 50% balance is due 90 days prior to your trip. You are of course welcome to pay your balance in full up front.

We accept payments via wire transfer. If you need assistance on wire transfers, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will provide you with all of the necessary bank details during the booking process.

Please Note: When making your deposit, please send us an email with your passport number and address. This information is required for the lodge’s taxes in Chile.

If you are coming on a hosted trip, they typically collect payments and organize this for you, and payment options/methods may vary.

Cancellations

We get it, things come up, emergencies happen. We pride ourselves on transparency and communication with every guest. If there's an emergency leading up to your trip, please contact us immediately to explore your options.

Cancellations made within 90 days before the trip will receive a 50% refund, while cancellations within 30 days before the trip will not be refunded.

We structure our policies this way to ensure we have the best chance of filling a spot during each week.

We spend a lot of time and resources getting everything ready for you, but we're also human. We'll do our best to work with you and your situation—accommodating any last minute changes at our discretion. This is why we highly recommend everyone gets trip insurance to ensure you're covered in case of an emergency.

Reschedules

Our season is fully loaded, with trips booked back-to-back, week-to-week, booked well in advance. If you need to reschedule, contact us immediately and lets talk about your situation. Reschedules are accommodated at our discretion, based on availability.

We may be able to get you on another week during the season if we have availability, though this is very rare.

If you cannot make another week during the season, or if we have no availability, this will be considered a cancellation and adhere to the terms of our cancellation policy:

Cancellations made within 90 days before the trip will receive a 50% refund, while cancellations within 30 days before the trip will not be refunded.

If you're on a hosted trip, we recommend talking with your host about availability and options first.

When it comes to rescheduling and cancellations, trip insurance is a great way to ensure you're covered.

Allergies & Health

Food Allergies & Dietary Needs: Our chef takes great pride in crafting fresh, daily menus. While we can accommodate most common food allergies (gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, etc.), these logistics are planned weeks in advance. Unlike a city hotel, we cannot simply "run to the store" for specialty ingredients once you arrive. Please disclose all dietary requirements at the time of booking—or at least 30 days prior to arrival—to ensure we can maintain our high standard of service for you.

Mobility & Physical Fitness: Our fishing program can be as rugged as you choose, ranging from comfortable float trips to demanding backcountry wades over slick boulders. If you have mobility concerns, recent injuries, or heart conditions, please let us know in advance. We have designed the lodge with easy truck access for our senior guests, but knowing your physical limits helps us select the appropriate beats and guides to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

Failure to disclose significant health or dietary restrictions until you are on-site can significantly lower the quality of your experience and, in some cases, may compromise your safety. We want to be prepared to support you, but we can only do so if we are informed before the trip begins.

Bad Weather

At Vista Patagonia, we embrace the wild and unpredictable nature of the Aysén region. While "tough days" with wind and rain are part of the authentic Patagonian experience, we have a clear approach to handling the elements:

Safety First: It is very uncommon for weather to compromise the safety of a trip—typically occurring only once a year. However, if heavy rains create risks of landslides or flash floods, we will prioritize the safety of our guests and staff by staying off the roads and away from dangerous waters.

The "Plan B" Philosophy: As long as you are willing to play in the elements, we are ready to guide you. If our primary destination is "blown out" or unsafe, we almost always have a reliable alternative. While it may not be our initial Plan A, some of the best fish of a lifetime are often caught when conditions force a pivot to new water.

The Lodge & Beyond: On the rare occasion that no fishing plan is viable, we won't let the day go to waste. We’ll pivot to a "local's day," heading into Coyhaique to explore the town, visit local shops, and enjoy the region's best food, ensuring your time with us is memorable regardless of the forecast.
